Instructor: Belinda Tkach.  Belinda's foundation for her yoga practice is the belief that yoga, like most things in life, shouldn't be taken too seriously. With this in mind, Belinda's teaching style is light-hearted and eclectic. Her classes invite students to challenge themselves with humour and compassion, and to find their own practice through awareness of body, breath and mind.
Belinda began practicing yoga in 2006. Since then she's had the privilege of learning from a variety of teachers in Canada. She completed her teacher training in Vancouver, Canada in 2009. She has spent the last year and a half in Belize teaching yoga at her own studio, and as well the local resorts.
Now back in Vancouver, Belinda is eager to get back to teaching again.

Kids Summer photography Camps

Photography is a great way for kids to be engaged with world around them and look at it more carefully. It's more than pointing and shooting, it's about decision making, learning what to look for and how to capture it.

Through this series of five half-day lessons, your child will build their photography skills, covering aspects from understanding how photography works to creating beautiful compositions through hands-on analog and digital exercises. Kids will have the opportunity to explore the Earthwise Garden, partake in fun group activities, crafts, and of course take lots of photos!

GARDENING WORKSHOPS:

Easy Plants for Earthwise Gardens (Plant ID, 2010)
Right plant, right place - a basic truth about gardening: if you work with your site conditions and choose plants that will thrive in them, you will spend less time fussing over their health, and they will do most of the "work" for you. But, how to identify these ‘easy’ plants and know where they will thrive? This course will take place over an entire growing season (spring, summer, fall).

Water Wise Farming (Aug 2009)
Garden friendly options to make your water go further, and give you opportunities to keep your crops watered even when you're not around.

Bug Gardens: Not Your Average Insect Collection (Sept 2009)
A well-planned garden will attract the right populations of insects, and discourage the wrong populations. Insects are crucial ingredients in every garden for food pollination, disease-protection, and herbivore control.

Composting 101 (May 2008)
How to turn your grass clippings and garden and kitchen waste into fertile topsoil.
Grafting Workshop (April 2008)

Master Gardener Brian Campbell led a workshop on grafting heritage dwarf apple trees, suitable for espalier or container growing in small spaces.   Common grafting methods were discussed and demonstrated.  Participants grafted their own apple tree, with the apple tree varieties on hand.

Leadership Skills for Women Working in Agriculture (Feb-April 2008)
This workshop series was designed to meet the needs of women agriculturalists but was  relevant to both men and women working in any management or supervisory role.  The series included sessions on Entrepreneurial Spirit, The Art of Supervision, Strategies for Successful Communication, and Conflict Resolution.
